DCYC Girls' Camp is an exciting and fun-filled week for girls aged between 10 and 14. We are privileged to welcome girls who have never been away from home before... let alone to DCYC! Girls' Camp offers so many opportunities to get involved and to make new friends. In the course of a week, we swim in the sea, sleep out on the beach, go to Splashdown, go to Woodlands, get involved in drumming workshops, hunt leaders in disguise, play on inflatables, play 'Silly Sports', play team games, try canoeing, try archery, make crafts, play sports... and so much more! At the heart of Girls' Camp, though is a desire to see all those onsite learn more about God. Engaging, interactive sessions, small group quiet times and prayer and worship underpin all that we do. We want all the girls to know more about the love their Father God has for them and to start to develop a personal relationship with Him. We welcome girls of all backgrounds to come and enjoy a week of living life to the full in beautiful South Devon!
Hi, I’m Emma, one of the managers for Girls’ Camp! Unlike Megan, I didn’t grow up attending DCYC, but one year she persuaded me to come as a leader and I’ve been back every year since! I pray that the girls who attend camp this year would come to understand who Jesus is, what He has done for them and that they would build strong friendships so as to support and encourage each other in their walks with him. I am extremely excited to be part of the DCYC team and count it a real privilege to be able to spend a week of the summer with these amazing young people! Hi, I’m Megan and have been coming to DCYC since 2002. I love what Girls’ Camp is all about – knowing more of God, having fun and making new friends – and count it a real privilege to come back each year! As teachers, Emma and I love spending time with young people and helping them to see more of who they have been created to be. Camp is such a formative, special time and the friendships made in a field in Devon are lifelong. Bring on Girls’ Camp!
